HP-HW-RAID Description

A Hobbit extension to monitor hardware raid on HP Proliant servers HP-HW-RAID is nothing more than just a simple and efficient Hobbit extension to monitor hardware raid on HP ProLiant servers such as ProLiant DL, BL or ML. It has been written in bash, tested on recent linux distro and could be setup in less then 3min.This script auto detect the amount of RAID Controller on the machine and the amount of plugged hard drive. The hobbit RAID icon switch to RED is the disk(s) is(are) down(aka hardwaredrive) or/and the RAID (aka logicaldrive) is rebuilding.Installation: 1/ Put script 'hphwraid.sh' in client hobbit '${BBHOME}/ext/' 2/ Edit your client configutation file '/etc/clientlaunch.cfg' and add : ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/ext/hphwraid.sh LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hphwraid.log INTERVAL 5m 3/ Provide privileges at the hobbit user to run the hpaucli command via "sudo" root# visudo Add this at the end of the file hobbit ALL= NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/hpacucli hobbit ALL= NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/pkill -9 .hpacucli and comment this : #Default requiretty 4/ On server, edit your '${BBHOME}/etc/bb-hosts' and add the keyword 'hpraid' on host you want to monitor 0.0.0.0 hostname_HP # conn ssh hpraid NAME:"My Server HP1" CLIENT:hostame_HP.my.domain 5/ Et voila; the 'HPRAID' column should appear in less then 20min. Requirements: · You must have an HP based server (tested on DL or GL 360, 380, 560, 580...) · Install the command 'hpacucli' provided on the HP website · sudo installed · A Hobbit Client running What's New in This Release: · According to issue#1, this problem has been fixed: If a spare HDD was used, it became a red alert.
