Easily resize, optimize and rename a batch of JPG images ImageSizer is an application built to resize, optimize and rename a batch of jpg images producing a zip file containing the images. It also allows users to resize images that are greater than 2880px by 2800px, however the resized images cannot be greater than this size.About Adobe AIRAdobe AIR runtime allows Adobe AIR applications to be deployed on computers and devices running the Linux operating system. In addition, Adobe Flex Builder for Linux can be used to build rich internet applications that deploy to the desktop and run across operating systems using proven web technologies.Why was ImageSizer created?I created ImageSizer to batch process my digital camera photos so I could quickly send them to friends/relatives or upload them to Facebook and Flickr without hogging all of my bandwidth! I’ve used other applications such as Shrink O’Matic, Photoshop, etc but I’m not a big fan of having to organise my images into an input folder and specifying an output folder for the images to go once they’ve been processed – this isn’t a great user experience. So I thought I’d use the drag and drop capabilities of Adobe AIR and enable users to quickly drag and drop the images they wish to resize into the application. Once the images have been processed the application produces a zip file for the user to drag and drop into their folder of choice, allowing them to easily save the images where they want to. Because AIR uses the clipboard when dragging and dropping to and from the desktop you can also easily drop the resulting zip file to other programs, like an email.How was ImageSizer created?ImageSizer was created using Adobe FlexBuilder, and designed using Adobe Fireworks. I used an asynchronous JPEG encoder for the image encoding and translated this webpage to create a smoother result than the Flash Player when resizing images. I also used the FZip class to create the resulting zip file. Requirements: · Adobe AIR
