This client lays the local and galactic maps side by side, and requires a minimum of 1024x768 screen resolution on almost any Linux computer.Netrek is a multi-player battle simulation with a Star Trek theme. As a player, you captain starships to engage enemy vessels, bomb armies and invade planets in order to expand your team's space empire. The ultimate goal is to genocide the enemy race, but the carnage of battles along the way is ruthlessly fast paced and a lot of fun! This is the client Cow for Netrek.When run, this client shows a list of currently active games from the metaserver, and allows you to join one. Uses very fast graphics libraries, with simple graphics objects. A full implementation with hundreds of features selectable from a large configuration file.Written entirely in C, the client uses X11 directly, and uses SDL only for sound. What's New in This Release: · Includes a reworked initial screen, tips on how to play, performance critique by server after death, and adoption of the previously separately shipped pixmap graphics. Sound support has also been reworked, but sound samples are not yet shipped.
