Gcam is a GTK+ webcam viewer for Philips USB webcams. gcam is a GTK+ webcam viewer for Philips USB webcams. Its goal is to support all of the features of the Linux pwc driver. It can save single shots in the jpeg format. It can save single shots as jpeg. Currently it only works with the pwc driver and not with other v4l devices. Compiling the program:You'll need libjpeg and gtk 1.2 to compile it, if you have them running makeshould do the trick.Installing:Running make install, will install the program in /usr/local/binWhy the common directory:I'm going to write a little server, that let's clients download jpegs fromcamera shots.
