GreenTea Theme for GNOME 2.x desktops GreenTea Theme for GNOME 2.x & Metacity is a very pretty theme that, despite its bright elements, is a dark theme - one that produces no known problems with programs that are traditionally problematic with dark themes under GNOME. It is based upon the Dust theme and is loosely inspired by the Linux Mint theme, who has seemed to mainstream a green theme in the Linux world. This theme is part of UberStudent--Linux for College and High School, and is part of the uberstudent-extra-themes package. See http://uberstudent.org for more info. How to install? The download includes both the GTK and Metacity GreenTea themes and background images, both branded and unbranded. The theme depends on gnome-wise-icon-theme which is available in most package managers. Ubuntu users can search in Synaptic with that term and install. To install the theme, just drag GreenTea.tar.gz into your theme manager - right-click on the desktop, choose "Change Desktop Background", go to the the "Themes" tab, and drag and drop GreenTea.tar.gz into the window. To handily place the desktop background, extract the tar and place the background image into /usr/share/backgrounds and add it from there.Also available is A+SkyAndSea theme.About GNOME:GNOME is an international effort to build a complete desktop environment—the graphical user interface which sits on top of a computer operating system—entirely from free software.
