vermont (VERsatile MONitoring Tool) is a network monitoring toolkit. Vermont (VERsatile MONitoring Tool) is a network monitoring toolkit featuring a PSAMP probe, an IPFIX collector and aggregator, a library for exporting IPFIX/PSAMP data, and a SQL-based graphical network analyzer. VERMONT stands for VERsatile MONitoring Toolkit.Currently it consists of a library for sending IPFIX encoded metering data, a sampler and concentrator/aggregator subsystem. Both subsystems are independently configurable and runnable. Recently, reader and writer for MySQL databases have been added.Vermont was developed in the context of the project HISTORY and the European project DIADEM Firewall. The HISTORY project is a collaboration between the networking groups at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Tuebingen, aiming at high-speed network monitoring and analysis. DIADEM Firewall is developing a distributed solution against network attacks.
