EUtils Description

A library which uses NCBI's EUtils network interface to query GenBank, PubMed and other databases EUtils is a free and open source client-side library for the Entrez databases at NCBI.NCBI provides the EUtils web service so that software can query Entrez directly, rather than going through the web interface and dealing with the hassles of web scraping.The EUtils package provides two levels of interface. The lowest one makes a programmatic interface to construct the query URL and make the request. The higher level ones support history tracking and parsing of query results. These greatly simplify working with the EUtils server. Installation: To install EUtils on your Mac you will have to open a Terminal window, browse to EUtils's folder and run the following command from inside that directory (you will need administrator privileges to be able to run it):sudo python setup.py install Requirements: · Python What's New in This Release: · Fixed regression tests so they aren't order dependent. · Removed unittest.py from the distribution since the patch to force test ordering didn't work.
