PHPix Description

Free and open source web-based photo album PHPix scales images and generates thumbnails automatically, so all you have to do is upload the originals.PHPix has support for using a single installation for multiple users with each user maintaining their own albums in their home directories. Requirements: · PHP What's New in This Release: · Enabled password protected albums: To password protect an album create a .config file in the album dir you want to protect and put the $user_required variable in it. · Password Album: A copy of the default album, but password protected · username: test, password: pass · Note: There is a better way to do this using the .htpasswd file. See below. · Added a htpasswd version of the album protection: If you don't specify a password for a user equired, the system will look in a htpasswd style file specified in config.inc · Added an admin function. If the web server can write to the desc directory and admin mode is enabled, a small "modify" link will appear in the lower right corner. Clicking on this checks if you have an admin_user configured in config.inc and identifies the user. (you have to use a htpasswd file for this) · Once in admin mode, you can modify descriptions or create new ones. · You can also browse through folders that are password protected. · If you are going to use this feature, I'd suggest you either have your albums owned by the webserver user, or set your desc dir to the cache dir. (Just remember, if you do that, you can't just blow away your cache to regenerate thumbnails) · I've also checked in a "passgen.php" file for those people who don't have htpasswd, you can just cut and paste lines into a password file. · I also changed the way query strings get generated, they now include the minimal information necessary to reproduce the page.
