Sudoku Solver is a useful widget for validating a solution to a sudoku puzzle Sudoku Solver is a helpful widget that can be used to check solutions to the popular puzzles that people can constantly be seen working in newspapers, books, and online websites. If you have been working on your puzzle all day and you just don't want to wait until tomorrow for the paper to post the result, then this is the widget for you. It features an intuitive interface, fast error checking, and difficulty feedback to gauge how hard a puzzle was to solve.In order to enter a Sudoku puzzle all you have to do is choose the appropriate square on the 9x9 grid where a number should go, and enter it using the keyboard.After the grid is completely entered press the Solve button and the rest of the grid will be filled out. This may take a few moments depending on the difficulty of the puzzle.Sudoku Solver generates a solution to the puzzle based on the programming principle of recursion. The program starts at the first blank grid index and runs left to right, top to bottom, and tests the numbers 1 through 9 to see if placing them in that spot is a valid move. If it is, then the program continues on to the next space and tries another number. If that entry fails, then the program will increment it and test again to see if it is a valid move. If the entry is valid, then the program will continue on to the next blank. If none of the numbers 1 through 9 are able to be placed in that spot, then the program returns to the previous entry and increments that value which repeats the entire process detailed above.
