Absolute Video Converter Description

Absolute Video Converter is an application which you can use to encode videos. It supports MPG, MPEG, WMV, AVI, ASF, DAT, and others. The interface of the tool is simple to navigate through. You can import videos by using only the file browser, since the "drag and drop" action is not supported (but batch conversion is). In the queue you can view the source path, output format and destination, as well as status of each file. So, the process is simple - select the target directory and extension, and initiate the conversion process. But you can also configure settings when it comes to the resize mode (e.g. preserve aspect ratio, crop), width and height, frame rate, mode (PAL or NTSC), bit rate, sample frequency rate and compressors. Furthermore, you can preview videos in a built-in media player, change the interface skin, as well as extract image and audio from video (by setting the start and end time and by specifying the format between MP3, WAV and WMA). The software requires a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and provides a well-drawn help file with snapshots, along with daily tips. Absolute Video Converter didn't freeze or crash during our tests. However, it failed to convert an AVI file to the MPG format (popped up an error). Also, you cannot specify the output name of the videos and the demo version has some severe limitations. Even so, we suggest you test Absolute Video Converter for yourself. It can be easily used, even by beginners. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on March 11th, 2012
