Aquiplicity Description

Aquiplicity is a utility designed to output one image from several images where the actor or actors are photographed in multiple shots and then are stitched into a singular scene. The same actor then shows up multiple times in one image! If you've ever dealt with panorama images you've seen multiple images stitched side-by-side. This is different from a multiplicity shot where the camera isn't moved and many images are taken in the same location, identical angle, and over a short period of time and then stitched into one final image. In sports this can be called sequence photography where you might see a motorcyclist several times in one frame as he jumps from ramp to ramp. In Aquiplicity the first image taken by the photographer is a tripod mounted image with no actors/people in it. Without moving the tripod an actor is shot in the same scene two or three times in different positions (endlessly more). The actor moves closer and closer to the camera so that the last image is the closest actor. The software uses the empty base image and the other images to scratch the layers away to reveal one final image. The image result is a multiplicity shot where one person is believably replicated or cloned throughout the scene. Aquiplicity is meant for those who have a passion for art through images. Aquiplicity is a fast fun solution to paint programs used in the past. The software tries to automate much of the task in making clone images. As one can imagine composing an image pixel by pixel is challenging and therefore some manual intervention is always helpful. Keep in mind images even from tripods can be very different in shadows, lighting, and small amounts of camera movement between captures. The scene itself often changes as blades of grass point different directions and shadows become longer while photographing. One often finds that the color balance frequently changes from image to image depending on the camera. This all makes for a more difficult multiplicity scene. Donate to the software fund below and receive the "Image - Save as..." version for outputting your multiplicity images. Give Aquiplicity a try to see how easy it can be to stich together several pictures!
