FreeCommander Description
FreeCommander is intended for the management of files and folders, both local and remote. Luckily, the latest version of this tool allows connecting to FTP sites. However, it is a pity that it cannot transfer data to or from cloud-based storage services. Probably the best advantage of this tool is its pane layout, which facilitates such operations as copying and moving data between two different folders. Besides the default layout of two side-by-side panes, you can select others according to your purposes. And not only that, it is also possible to create and save new layouts. Something that I liked very much about this application is its powerful search functions that can even look for files within archives. Another very convenient feature is a plain view, which lists all the files even if they are in subfolders. FreeCommander is, in many respects, a good substitute for Windows built-in file explorer. Yet, you should know there are other file managers which have more features. Just to mention some examples, FreeCommander does not allow splitting and merging files. Pedro Castro Editor rating:
