Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX is an utility that enables you to configure the WiMAX adapter and use it. WiMAX or Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access as a wireless service that allows you to transfer data at very large speeds The application provides you with the means to configure your WiMAX adapter and harnice that speed and use it in your daily routine. A WiMAX connection is much stronger that a Wi-Fi one, spreading across a longer distance and offers a superior download speed, comparable to a broadband connection. With it you can host video conferences and stream multimedia content such as music and movies. The utility displays a comprehensive interface that makes it easy for you to use and configure. It displays a list of the available networks to which you can connect along with their signal strength. You can toggle the application to notify you when a Wi-Fi or WiMAX connection is about to disconnect and have your computer tell you if it is compatible with WiMAX communications. The application automatically connects to a previously used network and if for some reason loses the signal, it automatically attempts to reconnect.
