M3U Creator Description

M3U Creator is a simple-to-use piece of software designed to help you put together playlists from audio tracks and save them to M3U or ASX format. It offers support for MP3, ASF, WMA, RM, MID, and other files types, and sports just a few standard settings that can be handled by all types of users.Hassle-free installation and plain GUIThe setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. As far as the interface is concerned, M3U Creator is clearly outdated. The options may not seem intuitive at first, but they're actually quite simple to use. Add one track at a time and edit tags Audio tracks can be selected for the playlist by using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported. It is possible to add only one track at a time, and to edit tag information when it comes to the author, title, album, artist, copyright, and genre. The title can be automatically assigned by M3U Creator with the click of a button (it writes the file name). Insert banners, enable shuffle mode, and edit existing playlistsIn addition, it is possible to apply a banner to the playlist with the JPG, JPEG, BMP or GIF format, along with the link and link text. All you have to do is specify the output directory, file name and format to immediately save the playlist. Shuffle mode can be enabled before doing so. M3U Creator also integrates an option for editing settings for existing playlists. Several examples are provided to help inexperienced users figure out how it works. What's more, you can enable a feature that automatically overwrites files with existing names. Evaluation and conclusionAlthough M3U Creator has not been updated for a very long time, it still works on later operating systems. As expected, it requires low CPU and RAM, and immediately creates the playlists. Apart from the outdated interface, the problem with the tool is that it does not allow users to insert multiple tracks at a time, such as by indicating a folder to take into account all its supported containing files. Basically, it's a time-consuming task to put together playlists with numerous tracks for special events. On the other hand, it's great for compiling quick playlists for iPods or MP3 players with complete metadata (and its option to edit existing playlists is particularly helpful), so it depends on your priorities.
