Editor's review: This is a toolset capable of converting PCL print stream to different formats. PCLWorks is a solution for viewing, converting, and debugging complex PCL print streams. This helps convert PCL into JBIG2 compressed raster or vector/text PDF and PDF/A files quickly and easily. It would be possible to convert to TIFF, PNG, XPS, JPG, BMP, PCX, DCX, WMF and EMF formats. It is also a PCL converter of PCL3 thru PCL6/XL and is able to handle HPGL/2 too. PCLWorks not only converts PCL, it also allows you to view, edit, disassemble, debug, extract text and print PCL to any Windows printer. This utility also converts PCL to PDF/A, the archival format. It is compatible with Windows platform in both 32 bit and 64 bit formats. The developer tool included into the set is a very useful, time-saving and paper-saving tool for anyone working with HP PCL4, PCL5, PCL5e, PCL5c, PCL XL(PCL6) and PCL6 JetReady applications. A PCL Viewer lets you preview your PCL before you print. The troubleshooting tool will be useful for technical support personnel trying to solve printer problems. It includes PCLCodes a PCL debugging tool. The kit also includes Logo/Signature/Overlay Creation Tool that helps create PCL logos, signatures, letterheads, overlays and macros from TIFF or JPEG files with IMG2PCL.exe. The PCLWorks also lets you convert PCL to PDF, TIFF, XPS, JPG, PNG and other formats for emailing, web content, archiving or for distribution to third parties as a Portable Document or Browser-Ready Format. It will let you extract and normalize individual PCL pages for analysis and split pages with the PCLWorks Convert dialog or with PCLSplit.exe. Printing to non-PCL printers is also made possible. You would be able to convert printer output into TIFF format to bypass having to scan, edit, etc. This is a very good tool. Publisher's description:
