PowerPlayer Description

PowerPlayer is a DirectShow media player that offers support for HTTP streaming options. It sports a clean and straightforward layout that gives users the possibility to play, pause, or stop the current selection, and adjust the frame rate. PowerPlayer offers support for a wide range of file formats, namely MPEG, AVI, WMV, ASF, ASX, MOV, WAV, AIFF, MP3, MP4, MID, VOB, DAT, and others. Plus, the program is able to play the audio or video contents from the specified URLs. What’s more, you can create playlists, make the program automatically scan the selected directory or disk to find the audio files, import M3U files, save the generated playlist to M3U, as well as view details about each audio file, namely size, artist, length, title, genre, bitrate, mode, frequency, and others. Other important features worth mentioning enable you to apply zooming operations, switch to a full screen mode, view a spectrum analyser, skip to the previous or next frame, as well as make file associations. During our testing we have noticed that the tool provides very good video and audio quality and no errors showed throughout the entire process. It manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t affect the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality. To sum it up, PowerPlayer offers an intuitive layout for helping you play video and audio files with minimum effort. Although it cannot be considered the most powerful tool on the market, it does what it says and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
