RawDump Description
Many users like to create backups of their DVDs containing data, multimedia content or games to avoid losing them in case the optical discs receive physical damage and can no longer be used. Nintendo GameCube and Wii consoles are no exception in this respect since both of them use game discs. Backing up such discs is, nonetheless, not an easy task since it requires specialized tools. One such utility is RawDump, an application that you can use to rip the game discs and save the content to an ISO image archive. The process is quite straightforward, especially since the interface of the utility is plain and simple, with all the functions easily accessible. Operating RawDump is a breeze because all you have to do is select the drive where the target disc is loaded and then start the conversion. A neat feature of this software is its ability to create ISO files from RAW data. There is a dedicated button in the main window so, once again, it will only take a single click to get the job done. In the main window you can also view information regarding the DVD name, conversion time, disc size as well as the speed of the process. Things get a bit complicated when it comes to the supported hardware, namely the optical drives that RawDump can work with. Currently, it supports a very limited number of such drives and in case yours is not on the short list, chances are it won't be able to perform as expected. All in all, when it comes to functionality, RawDump surely fits the bill by providing ease of use and quick processing. Unfortunately, the limited support for optical drives may deter many users not willing to spend time and try an application that is most likely to malfunction if used on unsupported devices.
