Registry Watch Description

Registry Watch application was designed to take a snapshot of the Windows Registry and then you can review any changes made in the Registry at a later time. The user has the option of watching the entire Registry or just a single hive. The choices are HKEY_USERS, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or the complete Registry which consists of both hives. Registry Watch has the ability to undo changes using the current snapshot. Once the user creates a snapshot and compares the changes, the user may undo the changes by creating a report for viewing later or undoing the changes. The user may also choose to remove some of the changes from the report. These removed items will not be undone later. If you wish Registry will take you the the Registry key you have selected in the report for viewing. Just click on Go to Key. Why did Easy Desk create Registry Watch? I have used several of these types of tools in the past, but they all crash or will not load on all the newer versions of Windows. Many were written for Windows 95 or 98 only and will not work on any other version of Windows. The few that I have tried for Windows ME, 2000, and XP crash on every attempt or simply do not work. All the ones I have tried do not have the Undo feature never less a Go to Key feature. So I have decided to write a program that works on all versions of Windows without crashing. In order to accomplish this, the software takes about a minute or less to take a snapshot of the complete Registry and approximately 2.5 to 3 minutes to look for changes. This is based on a 500 CPU and 9 meg Registry. Times will vary depending on these two issues. The system of determining changes that Registry Watch uses has been tested without crashing or mis-reporting changes on more that 100 different machines. Registry Watch uses a system that can work without crashing an any size Registry with any number of sub Keys nested, and any version of Windows. Limitations: ■ 15 days trial
