SSRS Security Manager Description
SSRS Security Manager: Manage, audit and have complete visibility of all your SQL Server Reporting Services security. Using a simple tree form you have an overview colour coding that alert you to a security issue. Drill down to an item by item level and simply click to inherit or un-inherit. In Report Manager it is impossible to get an overall view of security. You can only see the security for each individual item. To ensure that the integrity of your SSRS security is compliant with internal and external procedures and regulation, you need to check the security of every item in the report database. How long does that take? (Clue: in SQL Azure Reporting approximately 10 seconds to open each item before checking/amending). What is the chance of missing an item to check? What impact will that have? How many hours wasted and calls logged to help desk? What if someone gets access to a report they really shouldn't see? How valuable is that information, and how business critical is it that only those appropriately authorized get to see your reports? In addition we made it supremely simple to manage and amend items/roles system/ roles. Want to know who is in a group? View Group membership. Right click on a windows group to see users in the group. This works recursively to view all users even in sub groups. One tab to show your current status- and the next allows you to amend. Simple one click changes, inherit, un-inherit, add, copy delete Roles or System Roles.
