WinFF Description
FFmpeg is one of the most powerful video converters available. It is characterized by its accuracy and speed. However, it is run from the command line, which makes it inappropriate for beginners and uncomfortable for other users. WinFF solves this problem because it is in fact a graphical user interface for FFmpeg. This way, you will not need to memorize commands or long strings of parameters. The program has a simple interface in which all the functions are quite explicit, so much so, that it is unlikely that anyone may find any problems using this application. As it supports batch processing, you should begin by importing the files to convert, which are to be added one by one. These files can be played to check their contents and the results of the conversion can be previewed. The process of setting output parameters has been simplified in such a way that you do not need to know the exact parameters to enter; instead, you should simply select a category and pick one of the built-in profiles. However, you can also use the exact parameters that fulfill your needs. These customized presets can be exported or imported as a possibility to share presets with other users or reutilize the ones you have created. In general, WinFF cannot be given the credit for the quality of the conversion. Neither should it be blamed for the problems related to FFmpeg. It supports as many formats as FFmpeg does and it converts as fast as this engine allows. However, the effort to provide a graphical user interface to this excellent conversion engine should be praised. Its main advantage comes perhaps from its flexibility for setting and sharing output parameters. Unfortunately, it lacks some of the editing functions that are becoming available in modern converters. Pedro Castro Editor rating:
