Watch TV is a basic Windows freebie that does exactly what its name says: it allows users to watch online TV. This isn’t a new concept and the market is already full of this kind of programs, so Watch TV must come with something really special to attract users’ attention. Well, one of the things supposed to impress seems to be the overall simplicity that makes Watch TV quite an easy to use application. All features are grouped in the main window, so a few clicks should be enough to start watching TV. Watch TV uses Windows Media Player, so it doesn’t slow down the system too much, but as a general idea, the faster the Internet connection is, the quicker all streams are loaded. The list of available channels however is very disappointing. By default, there are only 8 channels at your disposal, all of them grouped under a single category. A search feature would obviously be useless, but instead Watch TV comes with a dedicated tool to allow users add their very own channels and thus access them with minimum effort. What’s more, there is no bookmark manager or a recording feature, which does nothing more than to emphasize our previous statement: Watch TV is just a basic application and nothing more. On the other hand, it doesn’t affect the system performance and runs okay on all Windows versions. Overall, Watch TV is yet another program developed to let you watch TV and while some users may be impressed with the fact that it doesn’t need to be installed, others might be disappointed with the lack of features.
