wattOS MATE is an energy-efficient, open source, fast and lightweight Ubuntu-based operating system that uses the lightweight MATE desktop environment, a clone of the GNOME 2 window manager. This is the MATE edition of the wattOS Linux operating system, a remaster of the latest stable Ubuntu release, bundled with the same applications that are installed in the LXDE edition of wattOS. However, wattOS MATE includes the Caja file manager, Pluma text editor, Eye of MATE image viewer, Atril PDF viewer, Engrampa archive manager, MATE terminal app, and the Lubuntu Software Center app. wattOS will be fast and easy-to-use when deployed on your computer, and now is the right time to rethink our energy use and how we use computers in our daily lives.
